Well it’s more of an Arrival of the not-so-killer bees…
But, Drake and Chelsea certainly had a few, um, exciting moments on the drive back from Austin this weekend after picking up our new hive. Those cool ‘escape-proof’ boxes? Turns out – not so much as about 30-40 of those awesome little buzzing pollinators decided that they’d like to join them in cabin of the car on their way to the Crate. Better view I guess.
Anyway, with none the worse for wear. The newest residents of the farm are settling in and setting up shop nicely. We’ve got a plethora of beneficials/pollinators native to the farm but thought we’d add some additional horse-, or rather, bee-power to see if we could increase our yields a bit (esp. melons) this year.
The little creatures really are pretty cool. Here’s their new place:
Nice work on the website, Mark! Hope you keep it up so we can watch the farm progress into what I’m sure will be something incredible. Can’t wait to see the place in person.

Really enjoying the website – it’s humor, creativity and photos! We’ll be watching as things progress and hope to tap some of that peach wine some day!
I’m so proud of you and your new life! Congratulations and look forward to a visit, the opportunity to enjoy the wine around a cool autumn campfire with good conversation. Hugs to you all!
